CHURCH CONSTRUCTION

At the beginning of 1994 members of the church decided to start building a permanent church. A Construction Committee was set up headed by Mr. Benjamin Ddamba (RIP). It was decided that members of the church were to be involved in this work at personal level by working at the site with their hands. At the same time money collection was started to buy construction materials and pay for hired labour.

Another strategy was fund raising on Sundays after service. Members would bring items from their gardens and others bought from shops and markets.

Many members of the church have contributed generously in kind towards all types of furniture, equipments, building materials and many other items.

To reduce on costs, bricks were made and fired at the site. These are two piles of bricks ready for use. A hip of Sand bought and ready for construction work to start. On the left is James Kaliisa Musaasizi and Seruwagi Israel on the right.
